" Don't just look at your Mustang , Drive it!!!" Thats my mato!

Debbie and I started this club in 2003, with the goal of getting people who love mustangs together and drive there Mustangs as a group. I feel we are  heading this club in the right direction and were haveing fun doing so. We appriciate everyone for being members and joining us each month.

Back in 1989 our first Mustang was a 69 Mach1 with 351 and 4 speed. I completely restored it and drove it everyday and loved it. That car turned more heads then you could imagine. The next Mustang we purchased was a new 90 LX 5.0 , black hatchback. We loved every mile put on the car and if you keep the rear tires under control it would beat most cars on the road. Debbie was proud of that car winning a few awards. Next was a 94 Red Mustang with a v6. Loved the looks and gas millage but could'nt wait to get a V8 back.  Next was the 99 Gt and we fixed it up right with everything Steeda.  The 99 out handled anything Ive driven so far and we had a blast with it. We had an 83 Vert from 98 to 2007 with a 5.0 and had allot of fun in the sun with it..Convertables are sooooo much fun. Our current 2003 Mach1 has been the most favorite Stang so far. We purchased it new in Jan 03 and have had a blast putting near 60k miles on it. Nothing like looking over the shaker hood and hitting the gas while the exhaust roars and the tires spin! .. Looks like the newest Stang in our lives is Debbies new 2008 V6 stang.. great power at 210 hp and near 28 mpg. Looks like Ford is doing a great job.

Thanks for every one being an HCMC member and having fun as a group !!!!!!!!!!

HELPFUL HINTS / yes my spelling is a little off, but you know what I mean.

1. Use full synthetic oil, its been proven to give you 5hp in Mustang and Fast fords! My Father-in-Law calls it Sympathetic oil. lol. I recommend to change it at least every 4k miles , even with synthetic oil. Torque your drain plug to 25 ft. lbs to avoid striped drain plugs over time!

2. K@N air filter will make your stang breathe better. While breathing out of your nose only , close one side of your nose. thats you breathing out of a stock air filter, open both sides and breathe, thats your car with a K@N air filter. Easy 7hp gain!

3. Check you air psi in your tires at least once a month.Dont forget your spare, its bad enough haveing one tire flat, much less two! Tires loose air just over time. Helps with gas millage keeping them inflated properly at all times.Sorry no hp gain.

4. Wax your car at least once every 3 months. Keeps up your paint job and garanted 1hp gain.lol  Try any new synthetic wax. they rock. ALLWAYS DRY OFF YOUR CAR AFTER YOU WASH IT TO AVOID WATER SPOTS!!!

5. For the quickest "kick in you pants mod" lower your gear ratio. Go from stock to a 307 to 410 and youll be impressed. Good torque gain and better response when you hit the gas. Some say even helps on gas millage!?

6. Torque your lug nuts to 90 lbs with a Torque wrench to avoid stripped lugs

7. Wait until you get to the car shows to put on your tire dressing and interia dressing. looks allot fresher and you avoid picking up dust on the way to the show and slinging tire dressing on the side of your car on the way.

8. Add a fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank every time you change the oil.. Will help keep the injectors from cloging. Make sure to add it in when the gas tank is below a half a tank then fill up to mix up the addative. Id reccommend to do it at each oil change.

 9. If its winter! make sure your antifreeze protects below 32 and if you have not changed it in 3 years. DO IT NOW!!!

10. How not to draw attention to the cops. / who we love/  Put your front tag on . its the law and the number one reason they pull you over. Do not tint your windows. They will pull you over to check the tint level! Do not put a logo / sticker on the top of your windshield. Dont rev up your engine when in town where everyone can hear you. Drive the speed limit when you can! You might save 5 minutes speeding to get where your going but its not worth a ticket. If you have an "arrest me, Red Stang " or a " Horrass me ,Yellow Stang" your on your own.

11. Change your brake fluid every 2 years, keeps your calipers and lines from rusting , and the fluid from boiling which can cause brake fade. Check your brake pads at each oil change! Keep your brakes up! 0 to 60 is important but 60 to 0 is a must. with your mustang!

12. Check your wipers each time you wash your car. Make sure there not dry rotted . Youve got to see. If worn out , replace them before they scratch your windshield.

13. Wax your headlights / tail lights / and windows. will help keep the lights from fadeing and the glass from water spotting.

14. Keep a bottle water in the car incase you get gas on the paint when filling up. Take the water and pour it on th e paint where you spilled it on to rinse it off . Never I say Never rub gas into the paint , it will fade it!

15. Eagle one wheel and tire cleaner, in my opinion, is the best to use when cleaning your wheels and tires  and is also great cleaning your engine area ! will not harm your paint finish. read instructions!

16.When washing your mustang , dont forget to clean out your door jams and trunk jams. Use an old clean terry cloth towl  because you might get some grease on them. Clean out the trunk gutter of dirt and leaves etc. to make sure the water flows out . Keeps from backing up into your trunk!
